How to Complete Your First Enrolment for Group Insurance
- Access the Enrolment Tool
- Go to CAE MyBenefits.
- Select Group Insurance Program then Administrator Website.
- Click Enrol and follow the online prompts.
- Verify your personal information
Make sure all your details are correct. - Input your dependent information.
Add youreligible dependents
- You may be asked to provide supporting documentation to confirm that your dependents meet the eligibility criteria under the plan, so be sure you have the appropriate paperwork available.
- Dependents who are eligible for coverage under your plan include your spouse and any eligible children. To be eligible for medical insurance, your dependent must be insured under a provincial health insurance plan. The definition of spouse and eligible children is provided on the administrator website under the Group Insurance tab > Understanding Your Plan >Who’s Covered.

- Allocate any excess CAEselect Dollars
Direct any unused CAEselect Dollars to one or more of the following — Health Spending Account (HSA), Personal Spending Account (PSA), CAE Group RRSP, or CAE Group TFSA. - Designate your beneficiary(ies)
Enter your beneficiary information online. Once entered, your designations are effective immediately — no paper forms required! Signing into the system with your secure credentials serves as your electronic signature. - Review your coverage choices
Take time to ensure your benefits selections meet the needs of you and your family. - Submit your enrolmen
Click Submit to finalize and lock in your selections. - Save your confirmation
Print or email a copy of your Confirmation Statement for your records. - Expect 5 to 10 business days for Sun Life to create your account. You will receive a welcome email from Sun Life once it’s done.
- Sun Life will mail your coverage card to your home address. Once your account has been created, you can also download an electronic card on mysunlife.ca or on my Sun Life mobile app.
- Note that your policy number and your certificate will be provided on your Sun Life coverage card.
Important Reminders
Enrol on time
You have 31 days from the welcome email reception date to complete your enrolment. If you miss the deadline:
- You will receive default coverage.
- Your dependents will not be covered.
- You will be locked into your default selections until the next Annual Re-Enrolment.
- You may be required to provide evidence of insurability if you want to make changes later.
- Any unspent CAEselect Dollars will automatically go to your Health Spending Account (HSA).
- You will lose the opportunity to receive up to $50 in Wellness CAEselect Dollars.
Set up your accounts
If you plan to allocate any CAEselect Dollars to the CAE Group RRSP and/or CAE Group TFSA, make sure to open your accounts at Desjardins.
If accounts are not set up in time, any allocated dollars will automatically default to your Health Spending Account (HSA).
